PowerLog Modules

We run our proprietary software modules with GeoSoftware’s PowerLog.

Base
- shale volume, lithology, porosity, water saturation and permeability for conventional and unconventional reservoirs, including organic rich reservoirs
- fractured reservoirs are also evaluated with this module
Mechanical Rock Properties
- results from the base module are used to reconstruct density and sonic logs
  - corrects problematic data caused by bad hole, light hydrocarbons and organic matter
- reconstructed logs are then used to calculate mechanical rock properties
XRD Data
- converts core weight percent to volume fraction
- enables the user to directly compare log calculated lithology outputs to lab measured values
Facies Identification
- use multiple discriminators to define facies type

PowerLog Modules

Oil Sands
- interpretation over all oil sand intervals, including mid gas and top gas intervals
- converts log analysis volumetrics to mass fraction, enabling a direct comparison between log calculated outputs and core measured data
  - calibrate to Dean-Stark core data in the mass fraction domain
- purpose built shale volume and porosity models which work over these intervals

Aptian also routinely builds custom PowerLog modules to solve petrophysical problems for clients.
